I know you’ve missed me
I have trouble finding the time to post during the week because I’m so busy with work, school, and training.  I’m going to try to figure out a way to post once or twice during the week so I don’t do really long posts on Saturday’s.  Yep, I think [...]

It’s blustery outside!

The wind here is ridiculous! And yes, my title is a Winnie the Pooh reference.

I almost blew away walking out of grad school tonight.  I tried to use my friend Matt as a wind shield but, being the unchivalrous jerk that he is, he forced me to walk side by side with him so we [...]

Lunch & the Oscars

Today was pretty boring.  When I got home this morning I did laundry, went food shopping, ate lunch, and then settled down to do work for grad school & teaching tomorrow.  Not exciting, but necessary.
Lunch today was an omelet (1 egg, 1 egg white, cheddar cheese, frozen collard greens, and salsa – I like a [...]

Recovery Run

I finished a flat, slow 5 mile recovery run this morning.  My legs felt surprisingly good and my muscles didn’t ache.  I was immediately starving afterwards, so I threw together a “mess” for breakfast: a giant banana, Honey Nut Cheerios (a childhood favorite!), and strawberry flavored ghetto yogurt.

Tasted better than it looked.  Is it just [...]

Today…with pictures!

Actually, I’m going to start with last night.
After dinner, I met my friend Jess for a couple of glasses of wine at Sweet and Lowdown, a new wine bar at Delancy & Essex.  As you can see from the pics on the website, it was adorable!  The perfect place for a date…or a night out [...]

NYC Blogger Meet-Up

If you live in NYC, be sure to check out this post at Fitness NYC.  I’ve reading about all of these other blogger meet ups in Boston & Florida, and I’ve been so jealous that NYC hasn’t had one.  Finally!
I actually tooks some pics of my lunch yesterday.  I don’t know what inspired me, but [...]

Core Yoga

I am definitely not one of those lithe flexible yoga girls, although I would love to be.  However, all the yoga classes at my gym are ridiculously packed and at inconvenient times.  Many other blogs have mentioned free online yoga classes, so I figured I’d try it out.  I’ve been doing mostly easier beginner classes [...]

Inner Dialogue

From this morning’s run, a play in one act.
Id: I have to pee now.  Like, immediately.
Superego: There isn’t really an appropriate place to stop.
Id:  There!
Superego: No, that is someone’s front lawn.  What kind of animal are you?
Ego: Can we make this decision quickly?  And stop bickering?
Id: I am not holding this anymore.  We are stopping.  [...]

Ahhh lazy Sundays

Today has been an exceptionally lazy day, which suits me just fine.  It’s so nice to have a Sunday without the pressures of the coming work week looming over me.
Yesterday I ran my 18 miler.  I actually can’t believe I made it because my legs started to feel sore and tired within the first about [...]
