Until the New Jersey Marathon! I can’t believe that after 4 months of training, the day is nearly here! Am I excited? YES! Am I nervous! Starting to be….haha.
I just finished a big bowl of pasta with broccoli and tomatos (yum, carb loading is seriously awesome) and I am now relaxing and thinking about what I need to pack for the overnight. Going into my bag is obviously running clothes, but since it’s going to be raining I’m going to bring a variety of stuff and see how the weather is Sunday morning before I decide what to wear. I will definitely be wearing something bright so my mom (who’s coming with me to the dirty jerz) will be able to spot me a mile away!
Since I’m spending the night in a hotel before the race, which I’ve never done, I’m also bringing a bunch of food with me. The food I’m bringing includes bagels, bananas, peanut butter, apples, pretzels, and Clif bars. Yup, way too much for one night away from, but that’s all my “running food”, so I want to have it all available. My pre-race food has always been bagels with peanut butter, and I think I’m starting to get superstitious about eating that, so I will definitley be sticking with that breakfast.
I don’t really have a time goal for Sunday, beyond breaking my first marathon time. Ideally, I’d like to finish in around 4 hours, but since I didn’t train for speed or time at all, I don’t know if that’s even in the realm of possibility. I will obviously just be happy to finish without walking
I’ve already told O that post-marathon, we will probably be hitting up Momofuku Noodle Bar for some Momofuku Ramen.

This is seriously the best food ever invented. Next time you’re in NYC, you MUST MUST MUST visit here.
Sadly, my computer will be accompany me to the hotel room. Tomorrow will involve the marathon expo and some work for school. Ugh. If you’re lucky, it might also involve some blogging too!!

That noodle bowl looks awesome. I hope you enjoy every bit after the marathon.
And GOOD LUCK to you! I hope you have a great race, and please make sure to remember all the good details. I want to read about it!
GOOD LUCK!! You’re out there right now–hope it’s too too wet.
